I haven’t coloured this much in years! Somehow, despite August being an incredibly busy month here on the farm, I managed to complete 11 pages. This month includes three more pages from our Rooms of Wonder full-book colour-along, a Little Red Riding Hood double-page spread from Dark Fairytales, two previously untouched books and a WIP that is finally complete. I’ve used everything from Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils to Inktense, Neocolor II, gel sticks, acrylic paint pens and of course plenty of sparkle. I’m genuinely happy with every page this month, which made choosing my top three favourites particularly difficult. Acrylic markers are one of those supplies I reach for on pretty much every colouring page, so in this video I’m sharing four different ways I use them to add those final little extras that can make such a difference. I’ll be showing you how I create soft fluffy clouds, add reflections to glass, soften or cover black line art, and use both white and coloured acrylic markers for highlights.
